T&F Excels with 11 Top-11 All-Time Performances

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's track & field programs ripped off another incredible weekend, posting 11 top-10 marks and times – mostly at the Villanova Invitational, hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

FULL RESULTS

Penn set 10 top-10 times and won five events at the Villanova Invitational alone, in addition to Mayyi Mahama's win in the weight throw at the PSU National Open, earning her second win in two weeks. Her throw of 20.09m (65-11) set a PR, which sits second in program history.

The Quakers have dominated the sprints of late and Saturday was no different. Sophomore Mia Knight dominated the field in the 60m dash, eventually taking the final with a time of 7.53, moving into second in program history.

In the 60m hurdles, a quartet of Quakers qualified for the final, led by freshmen Grace O'Shea and Lauryn Harris. O'Shea finished third in the final; Harris was fourth in 8.50, moving into third all-time; sophomore Haley Rizek placed fifth in 8.83, jumping into eighth all-time; and Skyla Wilson qualified in 8.70, the fifth-best time, but didn't run in the final. In the 200m, Uchechi Nwogwugwu – the program record holder in the 400m – won the race in 24.83, now the seventh-best time in program history.

In men's competition, it was more of the same. In the 60m hurdles, Penn finished one-two-four, led by Jared Elters' win with a time of 8.23, the eighth-best in program history. Enoch Cheung finished second and Masaki Wada-Law placed fourth. In the 60m dash, Josh Bridges advanced to the final, eventually finishing fourth.

Both teams enjoyed success in the distance races, but the men especially. William Hare set the sixth-best time in the 3,000m in 8:09.71, just ahead of Ryan Renken who finished in 8:10.24, now eighth. Colin Daly and Ray Sellaro finished third and fourth in the mile with Sellaro beating his PR with a time of 4:04.69 – seventh best at Penn.

In women's distance events, Jessica Reidman set the eighth-best time in the 1,000m in 2:51.28 while Caroline O'Sullivan finished as the runner-up in the mile in 5:00.31.

The Red and Blue stripes also captured event wins thanks to: Alyssa Condell smoking the field by 40 seconds in the 3,000m; Sean Clarke in the pole vault (5.30m); Harris in the long jump (5.68m); and Mark Anselmi in the high jump (1.97m).
