Women's Basketball Announces Freshman Class

PHILADELPHIA - Five freshmen have arrived on campus and are set to start their careers for the University of Pennsylvania women's basketball program, as Head Coach Mike McLaughlin has announced the latest additions to the defending Ivy League champions.

The Class of 2023 features two guards, two forwards and a center, with each player hailing from a different state, including Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, California, Massachusetts and Indiana.

"I am extremely excited to start this journey with another group of incredible student-athletes at one of the most dynamic universities in the world," commented McLaughlin. "With their strong work ethic and dedication to excellence, they will not only fit into the culture of Penn Women's Basketball, but will certainly help take our program to new heights. Every year, we strive to bring in a well-rounded group of student-athletes who can each impact the program in their own unique ways and we have done just that. I cannot wait to watch them grow both as individuals and as a whole class."

Penn is coming off another impressive, record-breaking season on the court, as the Quakers went 24-7 overall, capturing a share of the Ivy League regular season title with a 12-2 mark in conference play. Advancing to the Ivy League Tournament championship game, Penn then advanced to its seventh-straight trip to the postseason, playing in the second round of the WNIT.
