PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team (4-1, 0-0) returned to action for the first time in two weeks and picked up right where they left off, defeating St. Lawrence 9-0. The women didn't drop a single game for the second time this season.
Clare Kearns and
Margaret Frantz were new additions into the lineup for this one and Frantz got the Quakers going with a dominant 11-1, 11-0, 11-0 victory to take a 1-0 lead.
Ashley Manning and
Julia Buchholz followed suit with 3-0 wins in quick succession.
Freshmen
Euwie Park and
Amina Abou El Enin were right behind their teammates, jumping out to quick leads and never looking back. Kearns recorded her first victory of the season shortly after in dominant fashion.
Captain
Jessica Davis turned in a terrific bounce-back performance, after dropping her last match at George Washington. Davis met the top player from St. Lawrence head on, taking the first two games in style, before holding on in the third game to secure the victory.

The Quakers return to action following the winter break, as they travel on the road at #1 Harvard on Saturday, January 11 at 12:00 p.m. and follow it up with a match against #11 Dartmouth on Sunday, January 12 at 11:00 am. in Hanover, N.H. The women return to the Penn Squash Center on January 29 to face Princeton.
