Women's Squash Hosts St. Lawrence to Finish December Slate

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania's women's squash team (3-1, 0-0) returns home after a brief road trip to host St. Lawrence (0-7) at 11 a.m. on Sunday in their final match in 2019. The Quakers split matches against #4 Stanford (L, 5-4) and #15 George Washington (W, 6-3) on November 22 and 23 respectively.

Previewing Penn
After a tight loss to one of the top teams in the country in #4 Stanford, the Quakers rebounded nicely on the road with the men, defeating #15 George Washington in style. Now the Red and Blue are looking to continue their winning ways against St. Lawrence.

Some of the strongest results from the Quakers have come from the bottom of the order this season, as freshman Amina Abou El Enin and junior Haley Scott are 4-0. Scott has already eclipsed her win total from last season and has shown tremendous composure under pressure, coming back from 2-1 down in two of four matches to win in five games.

Captain Julia Buchholz is also turning in a strong start, going 3-1 to begin the season. Buchholz appears poised to turn in her third consecutive 10-win season and is on a career-pace in the early going. Also shining are freshmen Ashley Manning and Navmi Sharma, each of who is 3-1 and have turned in impressive victories under pressure already.

Previewing the Saints
It's been a challenging start to the year for the Saints, who entered the weekend at 0-6, before dropping a weekend opening match against #8 Drexel and landing at 0-7. Despite that, the Saints have played a challenging schedule, losing to five teams ranked in the top-25. This weekend will bring more tests for St. Lawrence as they face off against #3 Princeton, Haverford and the #7 Quakers to end their 2019 slate.
