PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team returns to Rhodes Field looking to even its Ivy League record against Dartmouth on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m.
A pair of heartbreaking 1-0 defeats sandwiched Penn's 4-2 thumping of Cornell through three league matches. Dartmouth visits University City 0-3 in the Ancient Eight, suffering two one-goal losses to first-place Brown and defending champion Princeton, in addition to a 3-1 loss last week to Yale.

MATCH DAY 12 – Penn (6-4-1, 1-2 Ivy League) vs. Dartmouth (8-4, 0-3 Ivy League)
Saturday, Oct. 19 | 2 p.m. | Rhodes Field | Live Stats | ESPN+ | Also available on NBC Sports Philadelphia +
Series Information
Dartmouth leads 15-10-4 | Last meeting: 2018, Penn 1-0
Despite trailing in the all-time series, Penn hasn't lost to Dartmouth since 2014, producing a pair of 1-1 draws and a couple of 1-0 victories in the past four meetings. Last season, amid their 13-game unbeaten streak, the Quakers left Hanover, N.H. with three points on a goal from Megan Lloyd off a corner. Penn has conceded just twice to the Big Green in the last four meetings; conversely, the Red and Blue bulged the onion bag in each of the last four.
MATCH DAY 13 – Penn (6-4-1, 1-2 Ivy League) at Delaware State (0-15)
Monday, Oct. 21 | 6 p.m. | Dover, Del. | Live Stats
Series Information
Penn leads 3-0 | Last meeting: 2018, Penn 6-0
The Quakers have met the Hornets in each of the last three years and have yet to concede. In total, Penn has outscored Delaware State 12-0, boosted by last season's 6-0 triumph. Five different players notched goals, including Abbey Duncan, who buried a pair, in addition to tallying an assist.
Woodard's Worth
On the heels of her two-goal performance, Breukelen Woodard was named Ivy League Player of the Week, spurring Penn with the game-tying and game-winning goals against Cornell. Woodard leads the Red and Blue with five goals – tied for eighth-most in the Ivy League – and has one multi-goal game to her credit as a Quaker.
The Sandstorm
Penn's points leader, Emily Sands, notched another assist in the 4-2 win over Cornell, raising her season total to five, tied for the second-most in the league. That, paired with four goals, puts Sands' points total at 13, sixth among all Ivy players.
Significant Sizzy
Freshman Sizzy Lawton scored the game's only first-half goal against the Big Red, urging the Quakers ahead at the halftime break. The goal was her second of the season and then she whipped a delightful, left-footed pass into Mia Shenk's path for a tap-in goal to finish off the 4-2 win. Lawton now has five points during her rookie campaign, the most of any Penn freshman this year.
Ivy Standings
With three match days in the rearview, the Ancient Eight season still hasn't hit its halfway mark. Four match days remain, providing plenty of time for last season surges. Currently, Brown and Harvard have accumulated a perfect nine points; Yale and Columbia each have six points; Penn and Princeton, the two defending league champions, have picked up three; and Dartmouth and Cornell are still searching for their first points.
The only two unbeaten teams left, the Bears and the Crimson, are scheduled to meet on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Grading The Big Green
Dartmouth opened the season 7-1 by way of rattling off five consecutive shutout victories, outscoring opponents 16-0, including a 7-0 stomping of Florida International. The Big Green also boasts non-conference wins over Pittsburgh and Syracuse. Since Ivy League play began, though, Dartmouth has dropped one-goal games to Brown and Princeton before its 3-1 defeat to Yale last weekend.
Honing In On The Hornets
Delaware State enters the Penn match winless. In 15 matches, the Hornets have racked up just six goals, but are coming off a competitive 1-0 loss to Navy on Monday.
