Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Falls to No. 15 Saint Joseph's

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania field hockey team lost to Saint Joseph's on Sunday, 4-0.

Penn entered the game with loads of confidence after defeating Villanova 2-1 on Friday. Minutes into the game, Alexa Schneck found space in the circle and fired a shot which ws kept out by the post. Saint Joseph's Anna Willocks took the ball up the field and fired a shot which ws saved by Ava Rosati. Willocks quickly pounced on the rebound, however, and tucked the ball home.

The Hawks doubled their lead through Tonya Botherway, who scored off a penalty corner, and entered the half up by two goals.

Saint Joseph's wasted no time to extend their lead in the second half. Botherway scored her second goal of the game at the near post from a penalty corner. Jordan Olenginski extended the Hawks lead minutes later on another penalty corner.

The Quakers travel to Iowa City next Friday to face Iowa, and will return home to Ellen Vagelos Field to face University City rivals Drexel the following Sunday at 1 p.m.
