Princeton, N.J. - After impressing in singles a week ago, the freshman duo of Eduoardo Graziani and Kevin Zhu teamed up in doubles to win the Gold Draw at the Ivy Plus. The win capped off what was another successful weekend for the University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team. Graziani and Zhu defeated Dartmouth's Dan Martin and Jason Speicher, 6-4 to win the Ivy Plus' Gold Draw. 

How it Happened

Graziani and Zhu took the first match in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (6), that went down to the very end against Fridell and Frisk of Buffalo.The freshman duo defeated LSU's Moreno and Kozlov on the semifinals before winning an all-Ivy showdown in the finals, 6-4, against Marin and Speicher from Dartmouth.

Kyle Mautner and Dmitry Shatalin also made the finals in doubles in the Black Draw. Penn's top doubles team took down the top team of Buffalo in the first round, 8-4. They then defeated Princeton's Poling and Holden to advance to the final.

Jason Hildebrandt and Zhu made the consolation finals in their singles brackets. After losing in the first round to Dartmouth's Marin, Zhu bounced back with two consecutive Ivy wins over Columbia's William Matheson and Princeton's Damian Rodriguez. Zhu came back from a set down to defeat Rodriguez, 10-8, in a deciding tiebreaker. The Penn freshman fell to Columbia's Timothy Wang, 6-4, 6-4, in the consolation final. 

Hildebrandt advanced to the final of the Jadwin Draw with three straight-set wins. The freshman defeated Kaleb Dobbs of Minnesota in the first round before earning back-to-back Ivy wins against Columbia's Jack Turchetta and Princeton's Kabir Sarita to advance to the final. Hildebrandt came back in the final after losing the first set to win the second, 6-2, against Buffalo's Ethan Nittolo, but came up short in the deciding tiebreaker, 10-2. 

At the Yale location, RJ Sands and Robert Smithline teamed up to make the finals in doubles. The duo defeated the Harvard teams of Leschly and Ball and Koelle and Zoske before eventually falling to Harvard's Sun and Peters, 8-3. 

In the singles at Yale, Aleks Huryn and Kaden Funk each went an undefeated 3-0 over the three days. Huryn came back from a set down, twice, while Funk also won two three-set matches.
