PHILADELPHIA – Stratton Gilmore of the University of Pennsylvania's men's tennis team has been named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Northeast Regional Assistant Coach of the Year, as announced on Thursday morning.
The Quakers reached new heights in Gilmore's third year at University City. They won the second-most matches in a single season, finishing 21-9 with a 3-4 record in Ivy League play. Penn broke the program record for most home wins in a season at 17 and reached as high as No. 28 in the ITA rankings, their second-highest ranking ever.
Following the season,
Manfredi Graziani received second-team All-Ivy honors.
Gilmore has also been instrumental in Penn's recruiting efforts, helping bring in Adam Bain, Nischal Spurling and Vojtech Vales. The Quakers came in at No. 5 in the Tennis Recruiting Network's (TRN) Class of 2029 Recruiting Rankings. The mark is the highest in program history and paced all Ivy League teams this year.
