Men's Fencing Looks To Three-Peat at Ivy Championships

PHILADELPHIA - After a six year Ivy championship drought from 2010-2015, The University of Pennsylvania men's fencing team will be going for the second three-peat in its program's history this weekend when they travel to Princeton for the Ivy League Championships. Penn won eight Ivy titles in a row from 1976-1983 and have won the last two going 4-1 last season and defeating Harvard in the final bout the year prior to clinch.

The Quakers will need a quick bounce back after last weekend when they went 2-3 for the second time in a weekend this season. The Red and Blue defeated UC-San Diego and Air Force while narrowly falling to Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Stanford.

Penn will fence both Saturday and Sunday at Jadwin Gymnastium in Princeton, N.J.

He has gone an undefeated 3-0 in bouts four times which is second in foil behind Michael Li and Alexandre Amice who have each done it on five occasions. 25-2 prior to losing two of their last three, the Quakers will need a strong performance this weekend from their foil team if they are to three-peat.

Andrew Sun: 36-19
Adam Green: 34-25
