PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania fencing programs competed at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional at Haverford College on Saturday.
Antonio Heathcock and
Victoria Kuznetsov led the charge for Penn, earning medals in their weapons. Sophomore Heathcock earned gold at saber while junior Kuznetsov grabbed bronze at epee to round out the Quakers, who earned top-three finishes.
On the men's side, six other Quakers landed in the top ten at their weapons, with
Joseph Wu coming in seventh (epee),
Conrad Lo eighth (foil),
Simon Lioznyansky (epee),
Simon Kushkov (saber) ninth, and
Jaesun Yun in tenth (saber).
For the women, four other Quakers earned top ten finishes, with
Kimberley Jang trailing Kuznetsov in third (foil),
Leah Blum in tied fourth (saber),
Grace Hu in fifth (epee), and
Lila Paul in sixth (saber).
