Box Score (PDF)

PHILADELPHIA -
A two-minute, two-goal spurt from Sebastien Cabral was enough to vault Drexel over the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team on Saturday, despite a goal from senior captain Sam Wancowicz. With the 2-1 loss, the Quakers drop to 1-6 on the year.

KEY MOMENTS
*Penn notched the game's first shot in the ninth minute on a strike from Wes Maki that was corralled by goalie Jacob Jordan.

*Cabral found a ball from Xavier Hernandez in the 16th minute from left of the box, sending a ball past Penn's Scott Forbes for the game's first score. The goal was Drexel's first of the season.

*The Dragons would quickly double their advantage less than two minutes later on yet another goal from Cabral, again found by Hernandez who slid a ball just under the hands of Forbes.

*The Quakers limited the damage in the first half, as Drexel would only get one more shot off for the remainder of the 45 minute period. Meanwhile, Penn had several chances, including a high-header from Promise Adebayo-Ige in front of the Dragon goal.

*Penn struck quickly after the break, as junior captain Gavin Barger sent a corner kick perfectly to the foot of Wancowicz who struck forward, bouncing the ball off a Drexel defender and into the net, making the score 2-1.

*Drexel nearly added a third goal of the night in the 72nd minute, as Penn was called for a foul just feet outside of the penalty box, giving the Dragons a free kick that would bounce off the post and out.

*Penn would sent a barrage of shots into the box in the final minutes, with several solid chances on goal that were unable to find the back of the net.

PENN NOTES
*The Red and Blue outshot the Dragons by a wide margin of 16-7, including winning the corner kick battle 7-2.

*Wancowicz's goal was the eighth of his career at Penn, while the assist from Barger was his third in the Red and Blue stripes.

*Santi Musalem Pinto appeared in the 63rd minute, replacing Adebayo-Ige for his first minutes of both the season and his career.

*Forbes made his fourth start of the season, earning two saves.
