HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One
The Quakers entered Monday afternoon winners of nine straight and their first seven at Meiklejohn Stadium, but the Big Green looked poised to put an end to both streaks early in game one, tacking on a run on two hits in the opening frame. Penn responded in the bottom half with a single tally to knot the contest at one, after Andrew Murnane came around to score on a base-hit to left from Tim Graul following a leadoff double.

Matt McGeagh gave Penn its first lead of contest with a line-drive, solo home run to left for his team-leading third of the year. The sophomore's long ball was the first earned run allowed by Dartmouth starting pitcher Beau Sulser. Dartmouth tacked on a run in the third to tie it at two, before breaking the game open with a four-run fourth inning, highlighted by Trevor Johnson's two-run home run to give the Big Green a three-run lead.

The Quakers cut the lead to one after a Chris Adams sacrifice fly in the fifth and Daniel Halevy's RBI ground out in the sixth, but stranded the tying run at third in the bottom of the sixth as Dartmouth went on to score three off the Penn bullpen in the top of the seventh to come away with a 9-5 game one victory.

Matt McGeagh finished the opener 3-for-3 with a home run, two doubles and three driven in, while Dartmouth's Trevor Johnson fell a triple shy of the cycle and also drove in three.

Game Two
The nightcap of the doubleheader had a similar look to game one, as Dartmouth was first to open the scoring with two runs in the top of the first on three hits. The Quakers stormed back in the bottom half, sending nine men to the plate in a four-run first inning to take a two-run lead after one. Murnane led off with a double and came around to score on a single back through the middle from Chris Adams. Graul and Sean Phelan delivered back-to-back singles to tie it, before Peter Matt drove in a run on an infield error and Matt O'Neill brought in the fourth run on a fielder's choice.

After a Chris Adams RBI double to extend the lead to three, Dartmouth (13-7, 3-1 Ivy) answered with a four-spot in the fifth to take a 6-5 lead, thanks to a two-run single from Matt Feinstein and a two-run double off the bat of Kyle Holbrook.  The Quakers drew even in the bottom of the sixth when Matt Tola laced a one-out double to left and moved to third on a groundout. Graul delivered the game-tying knock with a single to right-center, as both teams entered the late innings tied at six.

The Quakers turned to relievers Billy Lescher and Jake Nelson to keep the Big Green in check the rest of the way, and the duo did just that, holding Dartmouth scoreless from the sixth inning on while allowing just three hits and striking out four. After remaining tied at six since the bottom of the fifth, Penn finally broke through in the bottom of the eleventh to set themselves up for the win. Chris Adams hit a leadoff double to right-center, and was moved to third on Graul's ground out to second. With one out and the infield in, Sean Phelan laced a walk-off single to left to score Adams as the Quakers poured out of the dugout to mob Phelan at first base.

Jake Nelson picked up his first win of the season in relief, as Adams and Graul led the Quakers offensively with three hits apiece.
