PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania field hockey team wraps up the 2017 season this Saturday during Homecoming Weekend when they host No. 14 Princeton on Nov. 4 at Ellen Vagelos Field. Game time is slated for noon and will also serve as Senior Day to honor the five members of the Penn Field Hockey Class of 2018.

NEWS AND NOTES: PRINCETON
*The Quakers and Tigers meet for the 45th time in series history with Princeton holding a 26-15-3 advantage in the record books. Penn last won against the Tigers during the 2004 season where they posted a 2-1 win on the road en route to an Ivy League title.
*Princeton has already clinched at least a share of the Ivy League championship, its 25
th all-time, in addition to the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. They're currently ranked 14
th in the NFHCA Coaches Poll for the fourth-straight week and remain at No. 12 in the NCAA RPI rankings.

*Saturday's game marks the final game for Penn's five members of the Class of 2018:
Rachel Huang,
Jasmine Li,
Liz Mata,
Gina Guccione, and
Alexa Hoover. The senior class is tied for second place in the Penn record books with 41 career victories and 16 wins in Ancient Eight games. Additionally, all five seniors are significant members of the team, having all been key starters during their time with the Red and Blue.
*With her win over Yale earlier this season, head coach
Colleen Fink's notched her 100
th victory as a head coach. Her 70-54 (.565) record as the Quakers leader has come with countless other accolades, including numerous All-America, All-Region, and All-Ivy honorees under her tutelage. Additionally, she's won 11 games in three of the last four seasons at the helm.
*The Quakers dramatic win over Syracuse was their second over a ranked team this season.
Alexa Hoover's 64th minute goal proved to be the difference maker in what has been Penn's signature win of the season and
Colleen Fink's first win over a top-10 opponent during her time in University City. Additionally, the impressive game-winning goal was featured on several national outlets including ESPNW and the NCAA Top-10.
*Along those lines,
Alexa Hoover was chosen to participate in the 2017 NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star Game and is one of two Ivy athletes who will participate in the event to culminate her
impressive collegiate career. She's racked up numerous accolades during her time with the Red and Blue including becoming the all-time leader in goals (67) and points (161) and holds single-season records in both categories. Additionally, she ranks fourth all-time in Ivy League history in both categories and is just the third two-time NFHCA All-American in Penn history.
*Penn has won five of their last seven contests on the season and have outscored their opponents by a 17-8 margin during that span. They're currently tied for third place at 4-2 in the Ivy League standings behind Princeton and Harvard and have an even record with Columbia.

Alexa Hoover leads the team with 11 goals and eight assists for 30 points while classmate
Gina Guccione ranks second on the squad with seven goals and one assist for15 points.
*The NCAA released their fifth RPI standings of the season earlier this week and the Ivy League is well represented as one of the best conferences in the country. The Quakers clock in at No. 21 just behind Princeton (12) and Harvard (19).
*Penn has set up one of their toughest schedules in program history for the 2017 slate that includes seven of their 17 matches against teams ranked in the top-25 of the NFHCA Coaches poll. North Carolina (#6), Delaware (#8), Syracuse (#11), Princeton (#14), Harvard (#16), Rutgers (#22), and Iowa (#23) and have all received votes as of the Oct. 31 edition of the rankings. As a conference, the Ivy League has eight wins over ranked opponents in 2017.
