PREVIEWING PENN
*The Quakers are coming off their signature win of the season to date with a 3-1, come-from-behind victory over visiting Yale last Saturday. The Quakers scored three second-half goals - including two from
Sasha Stephens - to upend the Bulldogs and take sole possession of third place in the Ivy League standings. After surrendering a goal in the 55th minute,
Allie Trzaska netted her second goal of the season in the 64th to knot the contest at one before Stephens found the back of the net in the 69th and 80th minutes to secure the Quakers' second-straight win in league play. Stephens was named Ivy League Player of the Week for her efforts, marking the second weekly honor for Penn this season (
Emma Loving, 9/25)
*Penn's 3-1 win over Yale was the first come-from-behind victory since September 2014 and the most goals scored against the Bulldogs since 1997, powered by Stephens' fourth career two-goal performance.
*With a win over Brown Saturday, the 2017 Quakers would become the first in program history to defeat Harvard, Dartmouth, Yale and Brown in the same season. Saturday's win over Yale was the first time since 2007 that Penn took down Harvard, Dartmouth and Yale in the same year - a team that won the Ivy League title with a 13-4-1 overall record and 6-1 mark in conference play, earning them a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
*Goalkeeper
Kitty Qu has conceded only two goals in five Ivy matches, while also allowing just seven in 1,117 minutes in net this season. Additionally, Qu ranks 10th in all of NCAA Division I with a .889 save percentage and 24th in goals against average at .564.
*Penn leads the all-time series with Brown, 12-10-4, while also holding the advantage in the last eight matches played in Providence, 5-2-1. The Quakers and Bears played to a 1-1 draw last season at Rhodes, as Trzaska provided Penn's lone tally.
NEWS AND NOTES: BROWN
*The Bears enter play Saturday on a two-game win streak of their own, posting 1-0 wins on the road at Harvard and Cornell. Their two lone losses in league play this season have come in one-goal matches against the conference's two top teams, Princeton and Columbia.
*Mikela Waldman leads Brown in both points (19) and goals (seven), both marks that rank fourth and sixth in the Ivy League, respectively. The senior also ranks first in the league in game-winning goals with four. Freshman Star White is second on the team in points with 14 - leading all Ivy League freshmen this season - and paces the league with six assists.
*Goalkeeper Christine Etzel has posted four shutouts on the year to raise her career mark to 18, ranking third on Brown's all-time list. Etzel's .913 goals against average ranks third in the Ivy League this season.
