PREVIEWING PENN
*Penn returns home after a heartbreaking, double-overtime loss on the road at Columbia Friday night. The Quakers were able to keep the co-leaders of the Ivy League in check all night -- due in large part to
Kitty Qu's terrific game in goal in which she made a season-high eleven saves -- but in the 105th minute, the Lions broke free of the Penn back line and netted the Golden Goal.
*The Quakers enter play this weekend in sole possession of fourth place in the conference standings with four points, just two back of third-place Yale. Princeton and Columbia remain tied for first with nine points each.
*While Dartmouth leads the all-time series, 15-8-4, the Quakers are 4-3-3 against the Big Green over the last ten seasons and are unbeaten in the last five matchups on Rhodes. The last two matches have ended in 1-1 draws.
*Qu has taken a huge step forward in her second year as the team's keeper, ranking 15th in NCAA Division I in save percentage (.875) and 28th in goals against average (.581). Both of those marks are also good for second in the Ivy League this season.
*
Laura Hamilton and
Jadyn Wilensky stand as the only two Quakers to start all 12 games this season, as Wilensky leads all players with 1146 minutes logged.
NEWS AND NOTES: DARTMOUTH
*Dartmouth is fresh off a 3-2 win at Holy Cross Tuesday, but enters the weekend having dropped five of its last seven matches. The Big Green have yet to pick up points in Ivy play, but two of their losses came in overtime on the road, at Yale and Brown.
*Although the Big Green have surrendered the most goals against in the conference this season (18), they have nearly broken even on the offensive end with 17 goals. Remy Borinsky paces the squad with five goals and 11 points.
*Defender Bonnie Shea is this week's Ivy League Rookie of the Week after netting her first career goal in a win over UMass-Lowell and then producing the game-tying goal at Yale last week.
