Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 * 7:00 p.m. | vs. Villanova, 44th Meeting (Villanova leads, 41-2)
In a series that dates back to the 1974-75 season, Penn is 2-41 all-time against the Wildcats. Villanova has won the last 14 against the Quakers and Penn was last victorious against their Main Line competitors during the 2001-02 season where they solidified a 69-62 overtime win at The Pavilion.
SCOUTING VILLANOVA
Villanova has two players averaging double-digits on the season in sophomore Adrianna Hahn (14.7ppg) and junior Alex Louin (12.9), and the contest marks a matchup of two teams that lead the NCAA in fewest turnovers per game. Penn ranks No. 1 in the country, making just 157 turnovers on the season, while Villanova clocks in at No. 2 with 169.
Hahn wrecks most of her havoc from beyond the arc, averaging 3.18 made triples per contest to clock in at No. 16 in the country. The Wildcats also rely heavily on Samantha Wilks and Megan Quinn at the posts, while Tennessee-transfer Jannah Tucker is a dual-threat with both post and long-range capabilities. Freshman Mary Gedaka and Kelly Jekot – a high school teammate of Penn's Jackie Falconer at Cumberland Valley (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) – have also seen minutes off the bench.
