Penn Football Radio/TV Broadcast Information

The Penn Sports Network, the broadcasting arm of Penn Athletics encompassing radio, television, and on-line/new media, is partnering with Salem Communications for live, play-by-play radio coverage of the Quakers for the 2007 campaign. For the second consecutive season, the Red and Blue's complete schedule will be carried over either the WNTP 990 AM or WFIL 560 AM airwaves, which reach across the entire Philadelphia region. Five games will broadcast on TV.

Play-by-play man Matt Leon and former Quaker Hench Murray return for their fifth year calling the action for the Red and Blue. This campaign marks the 27th for Murray in his role as analyst. Brian Seltzer will host the United Health Care Halftime Report and the Comcast Sports Net Post-Game Show, as well as the Pepsi Pre-Game Show, which airs thirty minutes prior to select contests (Lafayette, Villanova, and Columbia).

Matt Leon
Matt Leon is back for his fifth season of play-by-play for Football radio broadcasts on the Penn Sports Network. A 1996 graduate of York College, he spent three years broadcasting in the greater York area, before moving on to State College, PA, where he served as the sports director of WRSC, WQQK, and WNCL. He hosted the market’s top-rated talk show, and covered Penn State Football and Men’s Basketball. Following a stint as MissouriNet’s sports director, he landed at Philadelphia’s KYW NewsRadio 1060 AM. He continues to anchor and report for the station. Leon resides in Clayton, NJ.

Hench Murray
Hench Murray, a Philadelphia native and alum of Germantown Academy and the University of Pennsylvania, is the dean of Ivy League Football color commentators. Murray's analysis has become synonymous with the sound of Quaker gridiron games, since he arrived in the broadcast booth for the 1981 season. While at Penn, he was a member of the Sprint Football program, which is currently celebrating its 75th Anniversary. Earning a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Education, Murray serves as the Head of School for the Woodlynde School, located in Strafford, PA. He returned to the post in 2005, after occupying the position from 1981 to 1995. Murray has served on the Board of Directors for the Maxwell Football Club, the Little Quakers, and the Pennsylvania Association of Private Independent Schools. He resides with his wife in suburban Philadelphia.

Brian Seltzer
Brian Seltzer C’07 returns for his third season of play-by-play for Men’s Basketball radio broadcasts on the Penn Sports Network. He also anchors PSN’s Football radio pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows. In addition to these roles as Broadcast Assistant for Penn Athletics, Seltzer serves as the Philadelphia Eagles beat reporter for Sports Radio 950, with his coverage receiving the Philadelphia Radio A.I.R. Award for “Best Sports Reporting” in 2006 and 2007. He also co-hosts SR950’s Monday Night Football Live program, featuring the Brian Dawkins Show. Seltzer graduated from Penn this spring with a degree in Political Science, and resides in Philadelphia.
