Machen, O’Brien, Owens Garner CSC Academic All-District Nods

PHILADELPHIA – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the football All-District teams on Tuesday afternoon, with three members of the University of Pennsylvania football team garnering the honor.

Linebacker Kadari Machen, wide receiver Bisi Owens, and quarterback Liam O'Brien represent Penn on the CSC Academic All-District team after working hard on the gridiron and in the classroom during the 2025 season.

Senior Machen, who earned Second Team All-Ivy, started all ten games at middle linebacker and ranked third on the team with 67 tackles, including 32 solo stops. He posted 5.5 tackles for loss, forced two fumbles—tied for second in the Ivy League—and registered double-digit tackles (12) at No. 11/7 Harvard. Machen had two games with at least 2.0 TFLs and forced fumbles against Columbia and Brown. He finishes his Penn career with 200 total tackles.

Wideout Owens was named First Team All-Ivy in 2025 after turning another consistent season, starting all ten games and finishing with 66 receptions for 696 yards and five touchdowns. He posted double-digit catches twice, including 12 at Harvard and 10 at Lehigh, and added a season-high 101 yards and a touchdown against the undefeated Patriot League champion Mountain Hawks. Owens ranked fourth in the Ivy League in receiving yards and tied for fifth in touchdowns, while his 6.6 receptions per game were third in the conference. He closes his Penn career with 1,664 receiving yards (seventh all-time), 138 receptions (sixth), and 11 touchdown grabs.

Senior O'Brien started in all ten games, finishing the year ranked second in the Ivy League in completions (211), attempts (314), and touchdowns (19) while tying for the second-fewest interceptions (6) to land First Team All-Ivy. His 67.2 completion percentage ranked third in the conference, as did his 2,376 passing yards and 146.9 efficiency rating. O'Brien rushed for 548 yards, becoming the first Penn quarterback in the Ivy League era to lead the team in rushing, and added seven rushing touchdowns for 26 total on the year.
