No. 2 Women's Lacrosse Readies for Big Green

PHILADELPHIA--The No. 2 Quakers will play their final three Ivy League games over the next eight days, starting with No. 13 Dartmouth on Saturday. The undefeated Red and Blue will host the 6-3 Big Green at noon.

Both teams enter with unblemished Ivy League slates and both will play the other undefeated Ivy--No. 7 Princeton in the coming week. Dartmouth has played Yale, Brown and Cornell, and while trampling the Bears 16-1, they only squeaked by Yale 8-6 and pulled away from a 6-6 tie at the half with Cornell.

Leading the Big Green this season is Kat Collins with 36 points and Katherin Chiusano with 33. In the cage, Julie Wadland has come up with some big saves for her team and holds a 9.05 goals-against average and a .461 save percentage.

The Quakers will counter with the nation's leading defense and goalkeeper Emily Szelest's 4.80 goals-against average. She is saving more than 50 percent of the shots that come her way and has stonewalled some ofher opponents' top snipers.

The Quakers also have firepower up front with Courtney Lubbe, Ali DeLuca and Emma Spiro leading the charge. Spiro--the back-to-back Ivy League player of the week--has been all over the field, leading the team in draw controls and ground balls and ranking near the top of caused turnovers, goals and points.

Part of her draw success can be attributed to the performance of Erin Brennan who was new to the draw circle this season, but has helped her team secure62 percent of the draws.
