PHILADELPHIA - The No. 20 Penn women's lacrosse team picked up right where they left off in their Ivy League schedule, gunning 41 shots en route to a 15-4 win over Harvard Sunday at Franklin Field.

The Quakers (8-4, 3-1 Ivy League) won for the third time in a row and finish their four-game homestand with a 3-1 record. The Crimson (3-7, 1-1 Ivy League) suffered their first loss in Ancient Eight play.

Emily Cochran led the offensive production for Penn, netting three goals and dishing out two assists. Allison Ambrozy had a terrific all-around game, scoring one, assisting on three and picking up three ground balls and three draw controls, as well as a caused turnover.

Ali Ryan was responsible for Penn's first two goals, scoring at 28:19 and 26:42. Melissa Lehman and Chrissy Muller followed her to make it 4-0,and after Sarah Bancroft's goal for Harvard at 17:01, the Quakers went on a 7-0 tear for the rest of the half behind goals from Ambrozy, Rachel Manson, Cochran, Chelsea Kocis and Tarah Kirnan to take an 11-1 advantage into the break.

Cochran completed her hat trick to open the second half, and as the Quakers slowed down the offense, Harvard tacked on three more goals - one from Kelly Alverson and two more from Bancroft. However, the lead never dipped back under 10 thanks to Kaitlyn Lombardo's pair and Becca Edwards scoring with three minutes left.

Statistically, the Quakers dominated the game. They held wide advantages in shots (41-13), ground balls (21-14), and draw controls (14-7).

Karrie Moore picked up the win playing the first 30 minutes, while Sarah Waxman was called on to make seven saves in the second half. Kathryn Tylander took the loss for Harvard, allowing 11 and making eight saves in the first half.

Penn hits the road for their next Ivy League game, at Dartmouth on April 15 at 1 p.m.
