Women's Tennis Defeats Dartmouth, 5-2

Hanover, N.H. - The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team defeated Dartmouth, 5-2, on Saturday at the Topliff Courts.

The Quakers (9-6, 3-2 Ivy) opened the match by taking the doubles point. The team of Julia Koulbitskaya and Shelah Chao defeated Jayme Ahmed and Megan Zebroski, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles. Raluca Ciochina and Michelle Mitchell fell to Anne Scott and Lindsay Winingham, 9-7, in the No. 2 position. Penn wrapped up the point with Caroline Stanislawski and Kate William's 8-6 victory over Margaret Fitchet and Maggie Suydam in the third spot.

To open singles, Yulia Rivelis fell to Ahmed, 7-6, 6-3, in the No. 1 position. Koulbitskaya defeated Winingham, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 2 and Mitchell fell to Fitchet, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4, at No. 3. The Quakers won the next three matches, as Chao defeated Suydam, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 4, Stanislawski defeated Zebroski, 6-7, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 5 and Williams defeated Scott, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, in the sixth position.

The Quakers are next in action on Friday, April 22 when they are at Cornell for a 2 p.m. start.
