Miguel Rivera joined the University of Pennsylvania as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach/Head of Football Performance in the summer of 2019, and was promoted to Associate in January 2022. He came to Penn after three years as the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Miami (Fla.) where he worked directly with the Hurricanes' football team.
Prior to joining "The U," Rivera worked as a strength and conditioning coach for five years with the football team at Stony Brook University, the last two as the Seawolves' Director of Athletic Performance for Football.
Rivera played college football at East Stroudsburg University, earning first-team all-conference honors on the defensive line as a senior. He earned his bachelor's (2008) and master's degrees (2010) from ESU. Rivera holds his strength and conditioning coach certification through the National Council on Strength and Fitness.
