Meghan McNally is in her ninth year at Penn and serves as Associate Athletic Director/Director of Financial and IT Operations for the Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics. She is also the softball sport administrator.
In her role, McNally oversees budgeting, forecasting and reporting for the Division’s $75 million operating budget, which includes varsity athletics, recreation and administrative support organizations. She provides financial analysis and strategic support to the Director of Athletics and senior leadership team and oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the Division. McNally also oversees IT operations for DRIA and serves as the division’s HR Analyst and Security Partner in Workday, working closely with University Human Resources on hiring and employment processes.
Prior to joining Penn, McNally served as Administrative Services Director in the City of Philadelphia’s Mayor’s Office of Education, where she managed a $25 million annual budget and $275 million five-year budget plan. She previously spent seven years with the City of Chicago’s Office of Budget and Management, serving in several roles including Deputy Budget Director and Assistant Budget Director.
Earlier in her career, McNally worked in financial analysis, strategic planning and research with the Wayne County Airport Authority, the University of Michigan’s Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy, The Abrahams Group and The Brookings Institution. She began her career as a fiscal analyst with the D.C. Office of the Chief Financial Officer.
McNally earned a Master in Public Policy and Urban Planning from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005 and a bachelor’s degree in economics with high honors from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2000.
