Matt Klampert

Klampert was added to Leslie Kings staff in August 2022 following a four-year stint as an assistant coach with the Fordham softball team under head coach Melissa Inouye. In the staff's first season on Rose Hill, the Rams secured their seventh consecutive Atlantic 10 championship, sixth regular season title, and ninth trip to an NCAA Regional.

In the few weeks that were considered the 2020 season, three Rams secured a total of five Atlantic 10 weekly honors. A year later, the Rams earned the No. 2 seed at the A-10 Championship after going 17-3 in A-10 play and 37-10 overall. Six student-athletes earned all-conference honors, led by Devon Miller as Rookie of the Year, and four garnered NFCA All-Region accolades.

At Fordham, Coach Klampert worked specifically with outfielders and assisted with hitters, oversaw all equipment and apparel ordering and inventory, coordinated all ground transportation, handled scouting reports, worked directly with Fordham facilities, created social media content, and assisted with fundraising and camps and clinics.

Klampert had previously worked alongside Coach Inouye at Iona. During his time with the Gaels, spanning three seasons, the program won the 2017 MAAC regular-season championship and participated in the National Invitational Softball Championship postseason tournament. The Gaels qualified for the conference tournament his last two years.

Prior to his stint at Iona, Klampert served as a student manager for two years and then as a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater, St. John's, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in sport management with a minor in business administration in 2014.Â
