Dr. Cristina Kossak was hired at the University of Pennsylvania in July 2018 and promoted to Associate Head Athletic Trainer in September 2022.

Kossak came to Philadelphia from James Madison University, where she was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer while earning her Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport and Recreation Leadership. Before JMU, she spent the 2015-16 athletic year at Towson University as an Athletic Training Intern, working primarily with the Tigers’ women’s soccer, gymnastics and baseball teams.

Cristina is a 2015 Boston University graduate where she earned a degree in athletic training with a minor in public health. In addition, she completed a certificate in Applied Positive Psychology from Penn in 2020. Most recently, she completed a Doctor of Athletic Training (2023) and a Master of Business Administration (2024) from Moravian University.

Kossak has been a National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA) member since 2014 and is a Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC). She is certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist, American Red Cross CPR Instructor, and Stop The Bleed Instructor. Kossak also maintains certifications in Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Level 1 and 2, ACE Massage Cupping.
