Victor Szwanki was hired as the University of Pennsylvania’s Head Football Athletic Trainer in September 2022. He came to Penn from Temple University, where he was hired in 2018 as a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer for the men's soccer team before moving to the Owls’ football program in 2020.
Szwanki earned his master's degree in athletic training from Temple in May 2016. While in graduate school, Szwanki was awarded the Otho Davis Scholarship by the Otho Davis Scholarship Foundation. He was presented with the honor on November 11, 2015, at the Sheraton Society Hill.
A 2013 graduate of Rowan University with a degree in athletic training, Szwanki spent the previous three years earning much-desired experience as an athletic trainer. He has served as intern or volunteer for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, NLL’s Philadelphia Wings, Rowan University, Gloucester County Institute of Technology, as well as Eastern, Glassboro, Ocean City and Williamstown High Schools in New Jersey.
He currently holds certifications in first aid, professional rescuer CPR/AED, oxygen administration and strength and conditioning. Szwanki is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the Athletic Trainers’ Society of New Jersey.
Szwanki is married to Cory McMillen, also an assistant athletic trainer at Penn.
