Tyler O'Brien is in his second season with the equipment staff at the University of Pennsylvania, serving as Head Football Equipment Manager.
In his two years at Penn, O'Brien has assisted in the design of Penn Football's new look. He worked with coaches and staff to design a new set of uniforms, new helmets and new coaches apparel. In addition, he has worked with coaches to design and order new field practice equipment.
O'Brien has been instrumental in hiring and supervising a new equipment staff for Penn Football, bringing in a team of assistant equipment managers, interns, and student managers to assist the Quakers in their daily equipment operations.
A 2016 graduate of Florida State, O'Brien served as a student equipment manager with the Seminoles from 2011-15. While in Tallahassee, O'Brien oversaw all student equipment managers, and worked closely alongside head coach Jimbo Fisher to assist with practice operations.
After graduation, O'Brien spent the 2016 season as a full season equipment intern with the Cleveland Browns. He assisted in all equipment needs during the season, including transportation for road games, daily preparation at the Browns' facility, and inventory needs relating to all players, coaches, and staff.
