Susan Ciufo-Bennett joined the staff in August 2021 as the Director of Operations.
 
Ciufo-Bennett comes to the Quakers after a successful stint as the head coach at nearby Temple. During her time with the Owls since 2019, she coached four All-Region and six All-Big East selections while guiding the team to the Big East tournament in 2020. She also had success in the classroom, graduating full classes each season.
 
Prior to Temple, she had a four-year stop at Division II Stonehill College where she ran the helm. Her first season, Ciufo-Bennett hit the ground running, winning the NE10 title and advancing to the NCAA Final Four. The success continued with two more NCAA tournament appearances in 2016 and 2017, while leading the nation in 2017 in goals per game and scoring average. She coached seven All-Americans, 20 All-NE10 selections, and the 2015, 2016 and 2017 NFHCA Players of the Year in Erika Kelly and Kacie Smith.
 
Her coaching career dates back to 2011 after she graduated from a stellar playing career at Drexel. She coached for USA Field Hockey, Lehigh and two years at her alma mater.
 
During her playing days for the Dragons, she started all 82 games of her career. She was an NCAA All-American, three-time first-team All-Region, three-time first-team All-CAA, four-time CAA scholar-athlete, and the national record holder for longest point streak.
 
Following graduation in 2010, Ciufo-Bennett became a member of the USA Indoor team from 2011-16 where she helped the team to a gold medal at the 2013 Rohrmax Cup and bronze at the 2014 Pan Am Cup.
 
Beyond her duties with Penn, she has also been the U19 and U14 head coach since 2017 with the Northeast Elite Field Hockey Club.
