  • After today’s victory, Penn is 105-36-1 all-time in season openers
  • Today is the first season-opener victory for Penn in four years and the first for head coach Ray Priore.
  • This marks Penn’s 1,374th football game, continuing its own NCAA record. They have played 50 more games than the second-place Rutgers (1,324) and became the first program to hit 1,300 games played with a Halloween overtime win in 2009 at Brown.
  • Penn’s 302 rushing yards are the most by the Quakers since 276 against Columbia on Oct. 18, 2014.
  • The Quakers gained 559 yards of total offense, their second consecutive 500+ yard game.
  • Senior Will Fischer-Colbrie made his first career start today, finishing with 198 yards on 18-29 passing with two touchdowns and an interception.
  • Justin Watson continued his run towards the top of the record books, moving into seventh in Penn all-time all-purpose yards with 3,115 (passing Mark Fabish’s 3,045 yards), and tying with Rob Milanese for third in Penn receiving touchdowns (21). He also moved up the Ivy record books, placing ninth all-time in receptions (213) and seventh all-time in receiving yards (2,828)
  • Sophomore Karekin Brooks had the best game of his career, rushing ten times for 142 yards and two touchdowns, including a 64-yarder early in the fourth quarter, and catching two passes for 22 yards.
  • Brook’s 64-yard rush was the longest by a Quaker since Justin Watson ran for 79 at Harvard in 2015.
  • Senior Nicholas Bokun also set his career highs, catching five passes for 53 yards and a touchdown.
  • Watson has caught at least two passes in every game of his career, lengthening his own Penn record of 31 straight games with a completion.
  • After starting the second half down 10-7, Penn scored 35 points in the second half. The last time they scored at least 28 points in a half was on November 19th of last year at Cornell.
  • Freshman Isaiah Malcome finished his first game with 200 all-purpose yards. He gives Penn a player with 200+ all-purpose yards in back-to-back games, joining Tre Solomon who had 209 at Cornell last November 19.
  • Malcome’s 48 punt return yards are the most by a Penn player since 2012.
  • Malcome’s 103 kickoff return yards are the most by a Penn player since 2015
  • This was the first meeting between Penn and Ohio Dominican, a Division II school. It also marks Penn’s first win against an Ohio school, previously going 0-3 against powerhouse Ohio State.
  • Nick Robinson scored two touchdowns, one in the air and one on the ground, in his first game since transferring from the University of Georgia.
  • Penn moved to 14-0 when leading after three quarters under coach Priore by scoring three straight touchdowns to open the third quarter.
  • This is Penn’s fifth consecutive win at Franklin Field.
  • Safety Sam Philippi forced a fumble today in his first game since donating bone marrow back in December as a part of the “Be The Match” registration drive.
