PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania football opens up its 150th season home slate on Saturday afternoon against No. 6/7 Lehigh. Penn comes in after winning its season opener at Bucknell last week while the Mountain Hawks enter as a top-10 ranked FCS team in the country with a 4-0 (3-0 Patriot League) record.

The game will kick of at 1 p.m. and be streamed on ESPN+ and NBC Sports Philadelphia. Joe Tordy (Play-By-Play), Joe Valerio (Color) and Anna Camden (Sideline) will be on the call. This will be the 64th all-time meeting between the two teams, with Penn leading the series 47-16. Lehigh took last year's matchup, 44-30, in Bethlehem, Pa.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
*The #6/7 Lehigh Mountain Hawks (4-0, 0-0 Patriot) are off to a perfect start to their season, ranked as a top-10 team nationally. Lehigh held off Dartmouth 24-20 last weekend to move to 4-0 on the season.
*Senior Luke Yoder rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns, while senior DJ Brown
came up with a highlight-reel one-handed interception at the Lehigh five-yard line with 13 seconds remaining to secure the victory.
*Led by first year head coach Rick Nagy, Lehigh leads the FCS in rushing offense, averaging 291.8 yards per game. He was formerly Lehigh's defensive coordinator for the last three seasons. In 2026, they've beaten Holy Cross, Georgetown, No. 16 William & Mary and Dartmouth.

SERIES HISTORY
*Penn leads Lehigh 47-16 in the overall series. This will be the 64th time the two teams will have met. They have split the last 10 meetings, however, dating back to 1997. Penn has won three of the last four and haven't fallen to the Mountain Hawks at Franklin Field since 2016.
*In their last two meetings at Penn in 2021 and 2018, the Quakers outscored the Mountain Hawks 50-10. The series started in 1929, and Penn won the first 15 matchups between the two teams.
*Lehigh took down Penn 44-30 last year in Bethlehem, Pa. The then No. 9 ranked Mountain Hawks took a 16-14 lead into halftime before a Jared Richardson six yard touchdown catch gave Penn its first lead at 20-16 in the third quarter.
*Lehigh took control with two straight touchdown passes to go up 30-20 in the fourth quarter. Richardson snagged an 18-yard touchdown pass to bring it to 30-27, but the Quakers would get no closer as the visitors closed it out with a pair of Luke Yoder touchdown runs late.

2025 IN REVIEW 
*Penn finished the season 6-4 overall and tied Dartmouth for third place in the Ivy League standings at 4-3. The Quakers had wins over Princeton (17-6), Brown (28-21), Columbia (35-21), Marist (28-9), Dartmouth (36-24) and Stonehill (24-21). Penn fell to #9 Lehigh (44-30), Yale (35-13), Cornell (39-17) and #11 Harvard (45-43).
*Former head coach Ray Priore stepped down at the conclusion of the season after an incredible 39-year run with Penn football, including the last 11 as the head coach. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
*Penn (1-0, 0-0 Ivy League) defeated Bucknell in its season opener in Lewisburg, Pa., last Saturday, 20-7, to kick off the Rick Santos era. Penn held Bucknell to just 124 total yards, the lowest offensive output for a Penn opponent since Lehigh gained just 119 yards in a game on Oct. 6, 2021. 
*Miles Teodecki had 284 total yards (197 passing, 97 rushing) and three total touchdowns to pace the offense. Mason Page and Donte Barone each snagged their first career touchdown catches. 
 
TEODECKI NAMED QB1
*The Rick Santos era kicked off with true freshman Miles Teodecki as the starting quarterback. The Austin, Texas native led Vandegrift H.S. to the 2024 6A Texas State and District 25-6A championships and 2025 6A Regional and District 25-6A championships. He was named Podilla Poll 6A Offensive Player of the Year and Texas High School State Championship Offensive MVP. During his time in high school, he was 27-4 as a starter.
*His time with the Quakers started with a bang as he threw for 197 yards and ran for 87 more, totaling three touchdowns in a 20-7 win Saturday vs. Bucknell.
 
WR CORE OVERHAUL
*The top four pass catchers from last year's Penn team all departed due to graduation. Jared Richardson, an All-American last year, finished with 1,033 yards and 12 touchdowns a year ago. He finished his career ranked third all-time at Penn in receiving yards (2,505), fourth in receptions (193), and tied for second in receiving touchdowns (27).
*Bisi Owens went for 696 yards and five touchdowns in 2025 on his way to being a First Team All-Ivy League selection. Davis Ellis (17/175/1TD) and Alex Haight (11/102/0) were the third and fourth leading receivers last season.
*Tight end Jack Donnelly (5/68/0) was the leading returning pass catcher for 2026.
*In game one against Bucknell, sophomore Luke Johnson was the go-to target, tallying six catches for 75 yards to lead the team. He did not register a catch in his first year in 2025. Freshman Mason Page had a 37-yard touchdown catch in his first game as a Quaker. Fellow rookie Simon Cofrancesco posted three catches for 17 yards in his debut.

RICK SANTOS ERA BEGINS
*Rick Santos was named the George A. Munger Head Football Coach at UPenn on Dec. 13, 2025. He replaces Ray Priore, who spent 11 years as head coach at Penn and 39 in total with the program.
*Santos, who guided New Hampshire to three NCAA FCS Playoff appearances as head coach, is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in FCS history. He posted a 37-24 (.607) record at UNH, posting winning seasons in all five years.
*Santos held a 28–12 mark in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA), earning NCAA FCS Playoff berths in 2022, 2024, and 2025. In his first season at the helm, he guided UNH to a share of the CAA title, a No. 15 national ranking, and a berth in the second round of the FCS Playoffs.

PRESEASON ALL-IVY
*Senior offensive lineman Luke Sacchetti was named Second Team All-Ivy in Phil Steele's annual preseason rankings. Jayden Drayton was named first team for special teams as kick returner. He averaged 22.54 yards per return last season, good for second in the Ivy League.
 
SHUTDOWN DEFENSE IN WEEK ONE
*Through one week, Penn was the only Ivy League team to not allow an offensive touchdown. Bucknell scored on a pick six for their lone score. Harvard and Penn are tied for the fewest points allowed at 7.0 ppg.
*The Quakers let up just 40 rushing yards (1st in Ivy League) and 84 pass yards (2nd in conference), letting up just 2.5 yards per play (1st in conference) last week.
*Penn leads the Ivy League in opponent third down defense after allowing Bucknell to convert on just 1-for-14 (7.1%) of their third downs. Columbia was the closest Ivy League team to Penn, allowing its opponent to convert on 2-12 (16.7%) of third down chances.
 
IVY LEAGUE TEAMS COMPETING FOR POSTSEASON IN SECOND YEAR ELIGIBLE FOR FCS PLAYOFFS
*Following a year-long process initiated by the Ivy League's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the Ivy League Council of Presidents approved a proposal to participate in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoffs, starting last season.
*Yale and Harvard both made the postseason last fall. Harvard fell in the first round to Villanova while Yale upset No. 15 Youngstown State to earn the Ivy League's first ever FCS Playoffs win. They then fell 21-13 to No. 2 Montana State in round two. Montana State would go on to win the national title.

LAST WIN OVER A RANKED OPPONENT WAS...
*The last time Penn beat a ranked opponent was Nov. 19, 2022, when the Quakers beat No. 19 Princeton, 20-19.
*The last time they played a ranked opponent was in November of 2025 vs. #11/7 Harvard. The Quakers were outlasted by a game-winning field goal with no time remaining to fall to the Crimson, 45-43.
