QUEENS, N.Y - The Penn Quakers took on Bryant in the last game of the Jack Kaiser Invitational, winning in a hard earned sweep 25-20, 25-23, and 25-22.
Emery Moore led the offense hitting a .667, Garner tallied a 10 kills, with
Adell Murray and
Ellie Siskin tying at 8. On the defensive side, Murray tallied 6.0 blocks and
Addison Pollock led the defense with 24 digs.
Against the Bulldogs, Penn totaled 38 kills, 9.0 blocks, 68 digs and four aces, while Bryant had 65 kills, 5.0 blocks, 63 digs and seven aces.
For Bryant, Layla Olatunde led with 13 kills, and Kaitlin Curran led with 35 attacks..
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | Penn took a four-point lead early on in this set, maintaining this until 9-9. From there, the back and forth began until the Quakers gained a lead at 18-17, which continued until winning the set 25-20
SET 2 | Much like Set 1, Bryant and Penn battled to begin this set, going back and forth until it was 18s across the board. Penn then began to stray away until 23-20, when the Bulldogs started to gain on the lead. However, the Quakers held them off and took the set 25-23.
SET 3 | Penn starts off rolling, gaining a six-point lead 15-9, until Bryant started gaining back to 16-16. From there, Penn maintained at least a two-point lead and went on to win the set 25-22 off a kill from
Jenna Garner.
