PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania field hockey team hosts for the first time this year against La Salle in a 3 p.m. matchup this Friday, September 11^th. 
 
PENN (0-2, 0-0 Ivy League) vs. LA SALLE (0-3, 0-0 A10) 

Penn vs. La Salle 
The Quakers and the Explorers are meeting for only the eighth time since 1976, the last time being September 25^th, 2013. Penn has won all eight of previous matchups, including a 1-0 win with two overtimes in 2011. 
 
Quaker Notes 
* Senior goalie Ruby de Frees comes into this week with 12 saves last weekend against No. 5 UNC and No. 20 Old Dominion.
* Junior Riley Thomson currently leads the team offensive attempts with six shots.
* Senior Honor Roberts returns after being second on the team in points (17) and goals (7) in the 2025 season.  
* Juniors Reese Czajkowski, Thomson, and freshman Victoria Manzur were named to the NFHCA 2026 Collegiate Watchlist.
 
Scouting the Explorers  
* La Salle enters the weekend sporting a record of 0-3 after losses to Villanova, Cornell, and Colgate.
* Senior Abby Boggs returns as goalie for the Explorers after starting all 18 games in the 2025 season. Boggs currently has 42 saves in three game this season.
* Senior Darian DeLeo has started this season off with only four shots on goal and zero points, however led La Salle's offense last year with 14 points. 
* Senior Natalie Ricci currently leads the Explorers offense with three points.
