PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Big 5 has announced its All-Big 5 teams and postseason honors for the 2025-26 women's basketball season, and
Katie Collins and
Simone Sawyer received recognition following votes from the city's head coaches.
Collins was named to the first team, following a standout sophomore campaign in University City. The Manasquan, N.J. native started all 27 games this season for Penn and earned her second straight All-Ivy Second Team selection after winning rookie of the year in 2024-25. She averaged 13.0 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.7 bpg, 1.2 spg, and 34.8 mpg while her scoring, rebounding, blocks, and minutes per game ranked ninth, second, first, and third in the Ancient Eight. Collins scored in double figures 19 times throughout the year and recorded double-doubles against Maryland Eastern Shore (12/29), Brown (1/10), and Cornell (1/30).
Sawyer was tabbed as the top free-throw shooter among the Big 5. Hailing from Lincolnshire, Ill., the senior shot 88.1 percent from the charity stripe, which ranked 22
nd in the nation and was a 13.6 percent increase from her previous campaign. She made 74 of her 84 attempts at the line this season and notched 24 starts in 27 games at guard. Sawyer was a key contributor in the Quakers' 17-10 regular-season finish, averaging 11.5 ppg, a 4.7-point jump from her junior season.
