How It Happened
On a cold and windy Sunday at Penn Park, the weather was indicative of the tough going the Quakers would find themselves in. Columbia got the scoring going early and often, delivering runs in the second, third and fourth innings to put Penn down 5-0.
In the fourth inning,
Hannah Graveline the Red and Blue on the stat sheet when she found space through the left side of the infield to score
Jade Montgomery.
Montgomery was a nice bright spot on the day for Penn, as her first inning double broke the Penn single season record for doubles in a year. She would go on to add another in this game to begin expanding her newly found record.
Beyond the fourth inning score, Penn found little wiggle room. The Quakers still put together a quality day at the plate with seven hits, but weren't able to keep the Lions tamed and fell, 12-1.
