PHILADELPHIA – Jordan Obi '24 was taken with the 44
th pick in the third round of the 2026 WNBA Draft by the Las Vegas Aces on Monday night. The Hartford, Conn. native becomes the first Penn women's basketball player to be drafted in program history.
Obi finished her Quaker career as the sixth-fastest player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point milestone and did so in just three seasons, after her freshman season was canceled due to COVID-19. She started in 82 of her 83 games played and finished her career with 1,142 points, 631 rebounds and 19 career double-doubles which are tied for 11
th in program history.
The three-time All-Ivy selection received first-team laurels during her senior campaign and was a second-team honoree in both of her first two seasons. Obi was a two-time second-team All-Big 5 selection, and earned a total of five career Ivy weekly awards in addition to her Academic All-Ivy laurel in her final year in Philadelphia.
While at Kentucky for her final collegiate season, Obi started in 25 of her 36 games played, averaging 9.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg, and 26 mpg, en route to a Sweet 16 berth in the NCAA Tournament.
