PHILADELPHIA – Penn Athletics currently ranks 44th out of more than 360 Division I institutions in the Learfield Directors' Cup, which measures broad-based national success in Division I college athletics. The current school record is 52nd set in 2023-24.

Men's and women's fencing each totaled 75 points after finishing fifth at the NCAA Championships. Wrestling scored 55, followed by men's indoor track (36.5), women's swimming (30), men's basketball (25) and women's indoor track (23.5).

Overall, 19 sports are counted in the final D-I standings, four of which must be women's volleyball and basketball and men's basketball and baseball. The next highest (15 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was originally developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.

The next updates to the standings will appear in late April, early June and early July.
