WLAX Continues Road Trip at #5 Yale on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team continues its final road swing of the regular season on Saturday, April 11, heading to #5 Yale for a noon matchup.

The Penn vs. Yale Series
*The all-time series between these two programs is fairly close, with Penn having a slight 27-23-1 edge.
 
*Yale owns the four most recent wins in the series, winning last season's regular season bout 10-9 in four overtime periods at Franklin Field followed by an 11-10 win in the 2025 ILT semifinals.
 
*The Quakers last win dates to the 2023 campaign when they topped the Bulldogs 15-14 in overtime to win the 2023 Ivy League Tournament.

*The Red and Blue shifted to 4-0 in Ivy League action earlier this week, beating #21 Princeton 10-9 in double-overtime on ESPNU. Lela Greene netted the golden goal to clinch Penn's second ranked victory of the season.
 
*The win marked the 300th of Lois S. Leitner Head Coach Karin Brower's career.
 
*Patricia Columbia-Walsh was an offensive force in the ranked outing, tallying a field-high five points led by a career-high four goals. Sophomore Greene trailed Columbia-Walsh with her third hat trick of the year.
 
*Eden Welch found the back of the net twice while Catherine Berkery did once to round out Penn's goal scorers.
 
*Defender Natasha Yajadda was a problem on the defensive side of the ball, causing a team-high four turnovers. Overall, the Red and Blue caused 13 turnovers, and the Tigers caused eight.
 
*Goalkeeper Orly Sedransk recorded her sixth double-digit save performance of the season, stopping ten of the Princeton's shots.
 
*Attacker Berkery has been an offensive force this season, leading Penn with 31 goals and 38 points.
 
*Keeper Sedransk has been solid in the cage to open the year, stopping 104 shots on the year.
 
*Penn was picked to finish second in the Ivy League in the 2026 preseason poll voted on by the media.
 
*Sophomore Sedransk is pegged to have a strong second year earning Third Team USA Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse Third Team Preseason All-American as well as a spot on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
 
*Defender Yajadda has been making a name for herself on the defensive end of the field, leading the Red and Blue with 13 caused turnovers on the year.
 
*Maggie Bankowski has been dominant in the X for the Quakers through 11 games, leading the team with 56 draw controls.
 
Scouting the Bulldogs
*Princeton shifted to 2-1 in conference action this past weekend, topping Cornell 14-12 in Old Nassau.
 
*Kate Gould leads the Bulldogs' offense in assists (23) and points (48). Kelly Holmes leads the squad with a team-high 29 goals.
 
*The Quakers will likely face Niamh Pfaff in the cage. The keeper holds a 7.16 goals-against average, a .500 save percentage, and 77 saves on the season.
