The Series with Dartmouth
*76th meeting in a series that started in 1928; Penn leads the series, 47-28.
*The Quakers had won ten in a row before the Big Green came to Franklin Field and stunned them last year in overtime, 9-8.
*Penn has won its last five games in Hanover—including an 11-8 decision two years ago—after losing in both 2010 and 2012.
Strong Schedule…Again!
Although it's a new head coach (
Taylor Wray), Penn's tradition of strong scheduling continues. Coach Wray and his staff have set up a 13-game slate that features seven games against teams that were in the
Inside Lacrosse Preseason Top 20 poll—including five of the top six teams—and four more against teams in the "also receiving votes" section. (The Red and Blue also was listed among IL's teams receiving votes.) On the 2026 Penn men's lacrosse ledger…
#2 Princeton (4/11)
#3 Syracuse (3/1)
#4 Cornell (4/4)
#5 Georgetown (2/14)
#6 North Carolina (2/27)
#13 Harvard (3/14)
#19 UAlbany (2/17)
RV Dartmouth (3/28)
RV Delaware (2/21)
RV Villanova (3/8)
RV Yale (3/21)
Road Warriors
*After starting the season with five of its first seven games at home, Penn is playing five of its last six contests away from Franklin Field.
*The one home game comes next Saturday (April 4) against defending NCAA champion Cornell.
That will be Alumni Day for both Penn lacrosse programs, the women hosting Harvard in that day's opening game.
*Penn had more home games in February (4) than it does in March and April combined (2).
We're taking some liberties here; the fourth home game was really March 1, but we counted it as February since it happened on a weekend that also included February dates.
Preseason All-America Recognitions
Senior middie
Griffin Scane received honorable mention recognition by both USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse when they announced their Preseason All-America teams.
Junior SSDM
Anthony McMullan received Preseason All-America honorable mention recognition from Inside Lacrosse for the second straight year.
2026 Quaker Notemeal
*Junior
Davis Provost leads the Quakers in goals (22), points (26), and shots on goal (45); he has hit for multiple points in seven of Penn's first eight games—hitting multiple goals six times—and set a season/career high with five goals three weeks ago at Villanova (four of them coming in the first two quarters).
*Scane is second on the team with 17 goals this season, hitting for multiple goals in each of the first four games—including four-goal efforts against UAlbany and North Carolina—and two more two weeks ago vs. Harvard.
*Freshman
Jackson Maher continues to lead Penn with ten assists and is second with 20 points. He has gone for multiple points six times already this season including five points at UAlbany (2g/3a) and four each against Delaware (2g/2a) and Syracuse (2g/2a).
*Junior
Ben Beacham missed the Villanova game but has come back with four points in the two games since then (2g vs. Harvard, 1g/1a at Yale); he has five multi-point games this season.
*Sophomore
Nate Lucchesi recorded three points vs. Harvard (2g/1a), added two more last weekend at Yale (1g/1a), and is Penn's fifth double-digit points person this season with 12 (6g/6a).
*Junior
Grayson McClements has scored in each of Penn's last three games and tallied five points in that span, after going for four points in the Quakers' first five contests.
*Sophomore defenseman
Dante Vardaro is typically assigned the top offensive threat, but he added an offensive element to his repertoire against Villanova with a goal and an assist (the goal coming in spectacular fashion, the long pole converting on a behind-the-back effort.)
*Overall, Penn has had 14 different goal scorers this season (including nine with multiple goals) and 12 players who have dished out an assist.
*Senior
Mac Eldridge leads Penn's strong face-off group; collectively, they are winning draws at a .617 rate this season (113-183) and went 20-5 in the Ivy opener vs. Harvard. Eldridge is 58-39 (.598) while fellow senior
Ethan Costanzo is 24-15 (.615) and freshman
Quinn Ball is 28-12 (.700) including 16-3 against the Crimson.
*Sophomore
Jack Pelot made 16 saves while allowing just six goals against Delaware on February 21, and has been .500 or better in save percentage in six of Penn's eight games He has played every minute between the pipes with a .538 save percentage for the season.
*Two players lead the defense with eight caused turnovers: Vardaro on close defense and junior LSM
Matthew Till. (Junior SSDM
Anthony McMullan is right behind them, with seven.) Another close defenseman,
Matt Wills, had three CTs last Saturday at Yale as Penn had nine as a team, tying a season high.
*Like Vardaro, McMullan has proven himself a threat to get offensive when the ball is in his stick; he also has a goal and an assist this season.
*Eldridge, Scane,
Ryan McLaughlin and
Jacob Pacheco are this year's captains.
