Zybura Tosses Perfect Game as Softball Knocks Off Dartmouth Twice

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania softball team took down the Dartmouth Big Green in the first two games of a three-game set Saturday, 11-0 and 9-4, highlighted by senior Kelly Zybura delivering the third perfect game in Penn history.

Quaker Notemeal
* Zybura's historic day included four strikeouts. The other eleven outs came via two flyouts and nine groundouts.

* Jade Montgomery stayed blisteringly hot, going 4-for-6 with two homeruns and six RBI.

*  Senior Delaney Smith delivered five RBI today as well.

How It Happened

Penn 11, Dartmouth 0
The Quaker got off to a hot start, putting Gigi Ganje on with a walk before Delaney Smith delivered her sixth home run of the year and first at Penn Park in 2026.

The second inning is where things began to explode for the Quakers, providing the games final score. After a series of walks that brought in two runs, senior Jade Montgomery blew the game wide open with a grand slam, Penn's first of the year. The floodgates opened and two singles from Megan Huang and Jaz Johson brought three more runs in to give Penn its 11-0 score.

Despite the offensive prowess, the true hero of the day was senior pitcher Kelly Zybura, who delivered the third perfect game in Penn history. She struck out four without allowing a base runner in five innings of work. The most recent perfect game came in 2019.

Penn 9, Dartmouth 4
After a short break, the Quakers' momentum looked to have cooled off a bit, with neither team scoring until the fifth inning. The Big Green got on the board first with an RBI single in the top of the frame. The Quakers would respond in convincing fashion, however.

Alternating singles and doubles between Gigi Ganje, Alexis Youngren, Delaney Smith, and Dani Freer brought six different Quakers across the dish to instantly make the game a five-run affair. The game was capped off by none other than Jade Montgomery, who produced her second homer of the day.

Dartmouth would find a little life in the seventh inning, but a spectacular catch but right fielder Ella Utschig dashed the Big Green's hopes and sent Penn home with two wins on the day.
