PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Penn opened the outdoor season on Saturday at the Penn Challenge, recording several event wins and top-five finishes across the meet.
Adannia Agbo won the women's long jump with a mark of 5.62m (18' 5.25"),
Emme Hoarle finished third at 5.56m (18' 3").
Matthew Kathiravelu placed second in the men's field with a mark of 6.86m (22' 6.25").
Freshman
Thomas Bucks won the men's pole vault clearing 5.18m (17' 0").
Evangeline Thomson and
Rebecca Hoover cleared 3.68m (12' 0.75") in the women's pole vault finishing first and second, respectively.
In the high jump,
Isabella Tront tied for second clearing the bar at 1.66m (5' 5.25"), with
Lydia Merrick placing fifth at 1.61m (5' 3.25").
Ella Neskora recorded a personal-best in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.16m (174' 5"), placing fifth among collegiate-athletes.
Griffin Gammon finished third in the men's javelin at 57.21m (187' 8").
On the track,
Annika Topchy led a 1–2 finish in the women's 400m with a time of 57.30, followed by
Ava Nebel at 58.43.
David Davitt won the men's 400m with a personal-best 48.05
In the 100 meters,
Daniella Oyenuga placed second with a time of 11.95, with
Milan Ramey finishing third at 12.05.
Penn swept the top three spots in the women's 200m as
Jailyn Milord won the race at 24.12, followed by
Rianna Floyd (24.41) and
Simone Castelluccio at 24.59.
Ryan Matulonis captured the men's 200m at 21.87.
Lara Cota won the women's 3000m clocking in at 9:46.53, with
Alexa Matora finishing closely behind in second at 9:50.22. In the men's race,
Raghav Gopalakrishnan placed first with a time 8:26.32.
Penn swept the top three spots in the women's 200m as
Jailyn Milord won the race at 24.12, followed by
Rianna Floyd (24.41) and
Simone Castelluccio at 24.59.
