BANDON, Ore. – The University of Pennsylvania men's golf team had spectacular final round Tuesday at the Bandon Dunes Championship, and as a result the Quakers jumped up the leaderboard and finished tenth out of 15 teams. The three-day event took place on the famed Pacific Dunes course at Bandon Dunes, the No. 2-ranked public course in America.

Penn shot 3-under-par 281 on Tuesday, not just the Quakers' low round of the weekend but the second-best score among the 15 teams on the day. It marked the second time already this spring Penn has gone under par as a team at a tournament.
Junior
Hayden Adams led the charge for Penn on Tuesday; he tied for the low round among 96 golfers at 6-under-par 65. That pushed him all the way up to second place individually, at 8-under-par 205. Adams also was second in the field in par-4 scoring (3.81).
Oregon State's Nguyen Anh Minh was the individual medalist; he led wire-to-wire at the event and shot a 69 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 13-under-par 200. That had him five strokes ahead of Adams.
Freshman
Arjun Caprihan shot even par on Tuesday and ended the tournament at 2-over-par 215, leaving him tied for 30th in the field. Of note, Caprihan tied for second in the field in par-5 scoring (4.42).
Ryan Chang (72, +1) and
Kayden Wang (73, +2) were the Red and Blue's other scorers on Tuesday, while
Wesley Hu—who tied for first in the field in par-3 scoring (2.79)—was just a stroke behind Wang (74, +3) as all five players finished the three-day event strongly.
Three Penn golfers were in the field as individuals.
Max Fonseca shot a 78 (+7) on Tuesday, while both
Henry Chen and
Owen Hayes carded 79s.
Up Next
Penn is off until Monday, March 30 when the Quakers participate in the Columbia Spring Invitational. The one-day event will take place locally, at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa.
