Power Named Ivy League Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League has announced its weekly awards in men's basketball, and University of Pennsylvania junior forward TJ Power was named the Ivy League Player of the Week. This is his first time earning an Ivy award this season; he has been named Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week twice.

Power earned the honor after leading all scorers with 18 points in Penn's 61-60 win over Princeton Saturday at The Palestra. The junior also finished one rebound shy of the team high for the game, with seven, and tied for team-high honors with three assists. Power provided what proved to be the winning points on a three-point field goal with 1:19 left and added a steal and a blocked shot to his ledger. Power was efficient in getting his points Saturday, shooting 6-11 (.545) from the field including 3-6 (.500) from beyond the arc.

Penn (11-10, 4-4 Ivy League) continues this three-game homestand this weekend, hosting Columbia on Friday night at 7 p.m. and Cornell on Saturday at 6 p.m.
