Longwood 6, Penn 4
The game began about as good as it can begin for the Quakers. On the second pitch of the game, leadoff hitter
Gigi Ganje sent one deep the game's first run and her fifth long ball of the year.
Following a two-inning scoring drought, Longwood broke the silence in the fourth inning, producing three runs on a Brook Masingale sacrifice fly and a Sophia Knock two-run single.
Down 3-1 in the sixth inning, the Quakers shook up the lineup and brought freshman
Alex Holeman in, who promptly delivered an RBI single to cut the deficit to one.
Entering the seventh and final inning down 6-2, the Quakers tried to rally, with senior
Dani Freer homering and
Delaney Smith driving in a run on a single to center field. However, the comeback would fall short, and the Quakers would fall to the Lancers, 6-4.
Penn 9, Mount St. Mary's 1
As has been a theme for Penn this year, the 2026 Quakers have had a knack for bouncing back, and bounce back they did against Mount St. Mary's. The Red and Blue opened this one with a fury and never looked back.
Picking up from the last game, senior Smith drove in the contest's first two runs with a two-RBI single. Fellow senior
Jade Montgomery drove in a run with a single of her own. Singles by
Megan Huang and
Jaz Johnson made it 6-0 before Ganje put the final touch on the eight-run inning with a two-RBI double.
Mount St. Mary's would put one on the board in the top of the third, but the Quakers answered with a final run in the bottom frame.
Despite the swift five-run exit, Penn tallied 12 hits and two extra-base hits.
