PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team had four players selected to All-Ivy teams, including
Malak Khafagy who was named Ivy League Player of the Year.
Khafagy and
Franka Vidovic were named to First Team All-Ivy after tremendous seasons for the Quakers.
Vidovic led the team with 13 wins and a 4-2 Ivy League record this season. She also advanced to the quarterfinals of the CSA Individual Championships before falling to eventual champion Zeina Zein. This is her second All-Ivy selection of her career with the Quakers.
Khafagy went undefeated in team play (10-0) and conference play this season (5-0). She represented the Quakers in the CSA Individual Championships as the No. 2 overall seed before falling in the round of 16.
Malak Taha and
Sohaila Ismail were named to the Second Team All-Ivy.
Ismail posted a 9-0 team competition record this season and a 5-0 conference record. She also posted a 2-1 record at the CSA Individual Championships, advancing as far as the round of 16. This is her third All-Ivy nod as a member of the Quakers, hoping to finish her Penn career with another successful run in the postseason. She was also named Penn's Academic All-Ivy selection this season for her incredible work inside the classroom.
Taha was named Second Team All-Ivy after finishing the regular season with a 12-3 overall record, 5-1 in Ivy League play. She also represented the Quakers at the CSA Individual Championships before falling to eventual champion and No. 1 seed Zeina Zein in the round of 16. She looks to finish off her Penn career with a postseason run as the Quakers begin Ivy League Tournament play this weekend.
