Wrestling Gears Up for Busy Road Weekend at #15 Lehigh (Fri), Princeton (Sat)

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania wrestling team hits the road this weekend, heading to #15 Lehigh on Friday, Feb. 13, for a 7 p.m. matchup before closing out Ivy action at Princeton on Saturday, Feb. 14, at noon.

The Penn vs. Lehigh Series
*Lehigh holds the all-time advantage in the series, with a 15-5 record and the two most recent wins.
 
*The Mountain Hawks left the Palestra with a 22-12-win last season. CJ Composto, Cross Wasilewski, Jude Swisher, and Nick Incontrera won their bouts in the ranked battle.
 
*Penn's last win in the series dates to the 2022-23 season, when the QAuakers came out on top 23-11.
 
The Penn vs. Princeton Series
*The Red and Blue hold the all-time advantage in the series, with a 15-5 record and the four most recent wins.
 
*Penn dominated Princeton 31-7 on Senior Day last year, led by victories from Max Gallagher, Ryan Miller, Composto, Wasilewski, Swisher, Incontrera, and Maximus Hale.

*Penn dropped a close meet to #21 Cornell this past Sunday, falling 19-13 to the Big Red in the Palestra. With one match to go and the meet sitting at 16-13 in favor of Cornell, the #21 Big Red won the heavyweight battle to secure the 19-13 win.
 
*Davis Motyka (125), Evan Mougalian (133), Sean Seefeldt (165), and Martin Cosgrove (197) won their bouts to account for Penn's 13 points in the conference clash.
 
*Junior Mougalian is the sole Quaker to stay undefeated in Ivy duals, topping #16 Tyer Ferrara, 7-2, to move to 4-0 in Ivy action.
 
*Six Quakers sit in the Intermat and FloWrestling rankings, with sophomore Wasilewski leading the charge at #5 in the 149 field. #7 Composto (141), #12 Swisher (157), #12 Mougalian , #19 Seefeldt, and #25 Motyka round out the Red and Blue in the individual rankings.
 
*Wasilewski carries an astounding 21-2 overall record and 7-1 dual record into this weekend's competition.
 
Scouting the Mountain Hawks
*Lehigh brings a six-meet streak into Friday's matchup, topping Morgan State 34-9 last week to shift to 4-0 in EIWA action.
 
*The Mountain Hawks are currently 2-0 against Ivy League opponents this season, topping then #20 Cornell (20-17) and Princeton (30-9) earlier this season.
 
*Seven Mountain Hawks are ranked in the Intermat top 30, with Sheldon Seymour leading the charge at #4 at 125. #5 Luke Stanich (141), #6 Nathan Taylor (285), #11 Logan Rozynski (157), #8 Max Brignola (165), #21 Rylan Rogers (184), and #26 JT Davis (197) even out Lehigh's presence in the rankings.
 
Scouting the Tigers
*Princeton carries a one-meet skid into Saturday's Valentine's Day dual, falling 31-5 to Cornell last week.
 
*The Tigers' sole Ivy League victory this season came against Brown (27-18) back on February 1.
 
*#10 Eligh Rivera (149), #12 Marc-Anthony McGowan (125), and #17 Ty Whalen (165) represent the Tigers in the Intermat top 30.
