HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | Penn started set 1 strong, going on a seven-point run to gain a lead at 12-8. However, another seven-point run from Columbia, had them force a tie at 19-19. From there, the Quakers went on to score only four more points, however not before Columbia was able to score six to take the first set 25-23.

SET 2 | The second set started off as a back and forth as these two teams fought for a lead. Penn held on to a four-point lead at 12-8 until 16-12, however a seven-point run brought the Lions up 19-16. Still, that was not the end for the Quaker offense, as a five-point service run from Haley Kerstetter with kills from Zada Sanger, Adell Murray, and Ellie Siskin brought Penn up 23-21. The Quakers were able to score two of the last points, taking the set 25-22.

SET 3 | Splitting the first two sets brought both teams into the third making this anyone's game. Cornell gained a five point lead early on at 10-5, however a seven point run from the Quakers narrowed the deficit and brought the lead at 11-10, and another four point run brought a 15-13 lead, which would continue to finish out the set 25-19.

SET 4 | Even with the momentum of winning the last two sets, this game started off back and forth, with each team scoring five of the first ten points, tying at 5-5. Columbia seemed to start pulling away, creating a 16-11 lead. However, Penn was able bring some energy and score two for every point Columbia scored, finishing this set out in extra points 26-24.
