HOW IT HAPPENED
Penn took the ball first and went eight plays and 31 yards before punting it away. Dartmouth took advantage of its first possession with a 13-play, 80 yard drive that culminated in a 16-yard touchdown pass from Grayson Saunier to KyDric Fisher. The drive included a fourth and one conversion at the Penn 44.
The Quakers put together a 17-play, 54-yard drive that covered 6:22 from the end of the first to the early second quarter, but missed a short field goal to stay scoreless.
Dartmouth's first drive of the second quarter went four plays until the Big Green missed a 53-yard field goal on fourth down to keep the score at 7-0.
Penn finally got on the scoreboard with 33 seconds left in the half following a 10-play, 71-yard drive that resulted in a
Mason Walters 26-yard field goal. The Big Green ran out the clock and went into the half with a 7-3 lead.
Dartmouth received the second half kickoff and went seven plays and 42 yards before missing a 51-yard field goal to begin the half.Â
Penn's next drive went 10 plays and 44 yards down to the Dartmouth 23. On fourth and three, Teodecki rolled right right and misfired on a pass to turn it over on downs.
The Big Green raced right back down the field, driving nine plays and 57 yards to the Quakers 20 yard line. However, the game remained 7-3 after the home team missed their third field goal of the game, this time from 37 yards out.
With the door still open, Penn answered with its best drive of the game in a methodical 16-play, 80-yard possession that lasted 8:14. It ended with a Sean Williams one-yard touchdown run to give the visitors a 10-7 lead.
Dartmouth wasted no time in its next possession, completing a 34-yard pass to immediately get into Penn territory. Seven plays later the home team punched in a two-yard touchdown run to retake the lead, 14-10.
Penn's offense kept up its momentum, utilizing a mix of run and pass to move the ball down to the Big Green 17. They had second and four on the 17 but a run that gained nothing and two incomplete passes forced a turnover on downs with 1:20 to play.
After a stop on defense, Penn had nine seconds left at their own 46 yard line to try one last time for the lead, but an incomplete pass and a sack ended the game.
