PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Big 5 has announced its weekly awards in men's basketball, and University of Pennsylvania junior forward
TJ Power was named the Big 5 Player of the Week. This is his second time earning the award this season, the other coming on December 1.
Power earned the honor after a standout performance in Penn's 84-74 win at Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon. The junior led all players with 27 points, 20 of them coming after halftime as the Quakers broke a 38-38 halftime tie to win by double digits. Power also flirted with his fifth double-double of the season, grabbing eight rebounds, and was efficient offensively as he shot 10-17 from the field (3-5 from distance) and went 4-6 at the foul line.
Penn (9-8, 2-2 Ivy League) is at home on Saturday, hosting defending Ivy League champion Yale at The Palestra. Tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the game will air nationally on ESPNU.
