PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Big 5 has announced its weekly awards in men's basketball, and University of Pennsylvania senior guard
Ethan Roberts was named the Big 5 Player of the Week. This is his second time earning the award this season, the other coming on November 24.
After missing almost exactly a month due to a concussion, Roberts came back in time for the start of Ivy League play last week and led Penn in scoring in both of its games. The senior scored 28 points in Saturday's win over Brown, three shy of his season high, after dropping 19 in last Monday's loss at Princeton. He also dished out a combined nine assists and grabbed six rebounds. Roberts shot 20-22 from the foul line and 3-6 on three-point shots across the two games.
Penn (8-7, 1-1 Ivy League) is on the road for a pair of league games this weekend, traveling to Dartmouth for a Saturday matinee at 3 p.m. and then facing Harvard in an MLK Day game Monday at 2 p.m.
