The Penn vs. Mansfield Series
*Penn holds the all-time in the series, carrying a 13-1 overall record and 6-0 road record into Saturday's battle at Mansfield.
*These two teams met up in University City in 2024, with Penn grabbing a24-13 win at Franklin Field. Running back
JT Goodman scored two rushing touchdowns to lead the Quaker offense in the outing.

*The Red and Blue opened the 2025 campaign at home last week, falling 29-17 to Caldwell.
*Senior
Jaxson Nield made his starting debut at quarterback against the Cougars, tossing two touchdowns to
Andrew Piscatelli and
Jason Sheairs to account for the sophomores' first collegiate tallies.
*On the defensive end of the field, freshmen
Ryan Goodrich and
Hugh Maley had standout collegiate debuts, as Maley totaled a Quaker-high ten solo tackles to pair with two interceptions while Goodrich tallied nine tackles.
Sophomore
Colin Cross started 2025 strong as well, co-leading the Red and Blue with ten tackles.
*Special teams first-year
Ezra Granet had a strong collegiate debut, punting five times for 151 yards and kicking off three times for 167 yards against Caldwell.
*The Quakers return three CSFL All-League honorees to the gridiron this year, made up of First Team All-CSFL members
Josh Johnson and
Luke Pajovich, as well as wide
Jake Wang who garnered Honorable Mention All-CSFL.
*The offense returns its leading rusher from 2024 in junior Goodman. The running back racked up a team-high 407 yards on 93 attempts last season. The wide receiver room returns senior Wang and
Andy Falletta, who both caught two touchdown passes last year.
*Junior Johnson looks to continue his hot start to his special team collegiate career, leading the Red and Blue in punt returns with ten off 107 yards and kickoff returns with seven off 188 yards last season.
*The Red and Blue added some fresh faces to the team this season, with freshmen Charlie Almedia (DB), Goodrich (RB), Granet (P/K),
Jayden Janock (DL/LB), Maley (LB),
Xavier May IV (RB/LB),
Matthew Newbold (OL/DL),
Luke Sharp (LB) making up the Class of 2029.
Scouting the Mountaineers
*Mansfield opens its 2025 season this weekend with the Quakers.
*This year's squad includes a record-breaking 43 newcomers. Branching across eight positions, the coaching staff landed athletes from California, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Washington D.C, Pennsylvania, and an international athlete from Canada. Mansfield landed 25 defensive athletes, 17 offensive players, and a special teams member.
